To start my test, I installed the 5 most popular rotation helper addons based on the number of CurseForge downloads for each. All of the addons I selected had over one million downloads in their lifetime. Here are the 5 that made the cut:

It is important to note that the number of downloads does not represent the number of players using it. Instead, it is the number of times that an addon or update for the addon has been downloaded. As a result, addons that release updates more frequently and have been around longer will have higher download numbers.

Also, you will notice that I left WeakAuras (WA) off the list. While WA does have many rotation helper auras that players have made, these are not standardized and would be difficult to test.

With my top 5 selected, it is time to start testing and crown a winner.

Instead of telling you which one seemed to be the best to me, I decided to compare several aspects of each addon. In other words, I decided to look at the FACTS.

Recount Classic

Any damage dealer in WoW Classic wants to know how much damage they’re doing on encounters. Recount has been around as long as WoW has been around. Is it necessary? Not really. Does everyone use it? Yeah.

• Track your individual damage. See how you’re competing with your group on damage and make adjustments that help your performance.
• See that everyone is pulling their weight in raid groups. If you have a damage class below a support class on the meters, you may not want to group with that individual anymore.
• Bragging rights. Link the meters in chat when you’re at the tippy top. It feels good to be the highest damage in the group.

QUALITY of LIFE

Advanced interfaces – Offers the following choices to a player: add stop autoattack or pet support buttons attack; covers the map as you moved; displays Lua errors, adds cleanup bag buttons; has a search selection mode, etc. It also provides the text of the floating battle: energy and honor benefits, auras, improvement in repute, combo points; indicates the state of combat (entry/leaving fight).

MapCoords – This tiny, very straightforward addition shows a minimum map coordinate.

TomCat’s Coordinates – This add-on is identical to the last, but it displays both the Minimap and the World Map coordinates. A cursor’s coordinates are also seen on the world map. This is of great assistance to people who are lost and cannot locate the exact spot, NPC or object.

Easy Chart – a handy way to minimize the world map size and delete the black backdrop so that the player can access the map, without hiding the remainder of the screen. If the individual moves, the map disappears.

Price of vendor – The seller indicates at any given time the price of a particular item in the tooltip for that item. Nice with markers of occupation in the tooltip (see below). The price per unit is also seen.

Item Technical Tooltip Icons — Attaches tiny icons to item tooltips showing whether used in a career or a hunt (tradable items only). They log things for which the Darkmoon Faire Prize Cards can be traded. Compact, not-invasive, customized and highly appropriate to know which goods you can comfortably sell and which you might like to retain.

Gather Mate 2 – A valuable addition for skilled materials monitoring and collection. It displays herbs, mines and fish ponds on the national and limited maps. Gather Mate recalls the areas where you gathered money previously. This add-on includes a pre-filled storage module called GatherMate2 Data, so that you don’t discover all herbs and mines yourself, but you can start gathering them instantly.

Команды для настройки радара в CS:GO

Whether it will free more space on your screen, or grant you some additional intel — these addons are a great addition to your WoW Classic experience.

Name: Titan Panel

Description: TITAN is a great layout that will provide you with lots of information that you will be able to switch on and off in real-time. This piece of UI will inform you about multiple things. Your overall playtime, current playtime, RL time, how much XP will you get from targeted mobs, and how many mobs you will have to kill to level up. It’s an excellent addition for someone who values time and efficiency above all.

Name: Dominos Classic

Description: A simple action bar that will allow you to see the cast time, and the remaining cast capacity. Good addition for casters.

Name: Details! Damage Meter

Description: This piece of UI will allow you to track and store data related to combat. If you are in the large group — it will be mandatory to track every heal, damage, and Threat, to then use it to make combat most efficient. You will be able to compare the damage dealt by you and your teammates during a combat scenario. Tracking Threat generation is crucial during raids to control DPS and main tanks, avoiding a potential wipe. It’s also useful for evaluating people, seeing how they’re doing, and if they need to work on their gear or gameplay to play on the group’s level. Very important for pvp and raids in organized guilds. Track your Hunter, Mage, Paladin and Rogue, and see if they really dish ou as much dps as they say.

Name: Classic Castbars

Description: This one will allow you to track enemy casts. Target your enemy and see what ability are they casting, and how much time is left until the cast is completed. It’s a great addon that will allow you to react to incoming spells. Keep in mind that this addon might not be accurate sometimes, due to some bugs and lack of cast delays when the caster is taking hits, but it’s still one of the most useful addons to use.

Name: Weapon Swing Timer

Description: Arguably the most crucial addon for a Hunter, Shaman, Rogue, Paladin, or a Warrior. It allows them to calculate their movements and attack speed to avoid getting hit too frequently. Crucial for scenarios in which players want to re-position themselves in their downtime, without losing much DPS due to increased Attack Downtime. It also tracks the Swing time of any enemy you are fighting with, meaning that Warriors will be easily able to utilize the Hamstring grinding technique.

Name: OneBag3 or Bagnon

Description: These addons will change your Equipment Bag layout, turning five separate windows into a single window, making searching for items in your bag a little bit more convenient. OneBag3 is a little bit more generic, while Bagnon retains the aesthetics of Classic WoW, making it more natural and tied to the game.

Name: OmniCC

Description: Shows DoTs and effects that are affecting the enemy at the moment. Crucial for Warlocks, as they tend to deal damage with Damage over Time skills. After installing this one — you will be able to tell which spell should you re-apply, and at what time to get the best effect without wasting additional resources. Espeically useful against bosses. 

Name: Weak Aura

Description: Weak Aura is a fantastic addon that will allow you to track your Aura timers easily. You will be able to set up your indicators that can float around your character. Thanks to their style, you will see the exact moment that aura will expire. And you will see that not by looking at a specific small spot near your minimap, you will see them surrounding your character without covering half of your screen.

Name: Z-Perl

Description: Z-Perl will change the look of the character and party members’ bars in such a way that will be much clearer than a vanilla WoW Classic version. As seen in the picture above, you will be able to see their levels, class, health points, and mana/energy/rage very clearly. You will also see the target that a particular character is attacking at the moment. It’s a decent addon for those who party a lot, and since it’s WoW Classic — you will party up a lot.

VuhDo

Что такое VuhDo? Это рейдовый монитор, похожий на встроенные рейд-фреймы от Blizzard. Если коротко, то это отображение баров здоровья участников группы кастомными фреймами. Изначально, аддон создан для хилов, но подойдет и может быть использован практическим любым классом и спеком. Можно забиндить много нужных способностей на кнопки мыши к этим фреймам.

Titan Panel

Titan Panels добавляет один или два бара с информацией в верхней или нижней части экрана и предоставляет платформу для поддержка других аддонов.

AzeriteUI

Atlas Loot Classic – A UI mod that gives you a complete listing of the best slot products for your class everywhere, anywhere and anytime, and the place for the buy. It gives knowledge on the manufacture of products, objects and levels of competence.

Atlas Classic WoW – Provides the player with instance cards, sets the positions of the key bosses and provides detail about all of the monsters, NPCs, items and events you are seeing in each instance.

Deadly Boss Mods – Classic (DBM) – It is a dungeon support supplement, perhaps the most common and strongest. DBM warns you if a manager is going to use those abilities to shift or combat his charm.

The manager experience add-on is Big Wigs Bossmod. It activates warnings, dates, and sounds for individual experiences. This add-on is DBM-like but the memory/seconds of Big Wigs and CPU/seconds is the smallest of all Bossmod add-ons.

TellMeWhen – A second, fully customizable update offering graphic, listenable and text updates with war-fighting elements like cooldowns, buffs and debuff, reactive features, temporary weapon enchants, totems, runes and spells.

Weak Aures 2 – For anyone planning an attack, this efficient and scalable system expansion is required. It records auras, fitness, strength (sweat, rage, soul fragments, divine power, etc.), dropping, events, runes, totems, posts, etc. Everything is personalizable.

Decursive – The cursed raid / party members are monitored in this add-on. Powers you to choose some classes over others. Decursive supports and conveniently configures all classes of cleaning features. It fits for PvE and PvP both because you can manipulate polymorph / cyclone / hex / polymorpha.
