Ascend: Hand of Kul – клиентская онлайн игра в жанре MMORPG. Непростые времена настали в этом мире. Боги, что живут под землей, тысячи лет завидовали своим небесным братьям. Огромные дворцы, безграничные силы и свет даровали тем умение создавать разумную жизнь − людей. Народ земли отличался завидным умом, ловкостью и умением учится. Монстры, которых создавали божества в вулканах и пещерах, не могли похвастаться умением создать палицу для боя с врагами. Такая несправедливость породила многолетнюю войну, в которой игрок принимает участие.

Да только он не очередной человек, а гигант, которого небеса послали на помощь своим созданиям. Монструозный титан должен помочь человечеству отразить нападения чудищ Ада. Люди становятся его помощниками во время напряженной битвы. Игрок, в свою очередь, выбирает, какое оружие пойдет его титану, какую магию он возьмет с собой и какие жилища построит для маленьких людей.

Вне сражений игрок увеличивает силы человеческого народа. Он строит фермы, кузницы казармы, разводит лошадей и занимается изобретением новых механизмов. Катапульты и баллисты оказывают серьезное влияние на ход сражения, когда перед игроком появляется гигантский монстр. Поселение и здания в нем можно создавать благодаря многочисленным ресурсам и золоту, которое щедро сыпется с падших противников. Но развиваться нужно разумно. Игрок не может повести на плечах всю действующую армию. На широких полях пригодится помощь кавалерии, которая быстро подбирается к врагу, мешая нормально действовать. В лесах лучше всего работают мечники − они рубят заросли и умело маневрируют между деревьями. При осаде хороши лучники и баллисты. Несмотря на то, что всю работу выполняет гигант, люди оказывают серьезное воздействие на поле боя.

Сражение проходит в формате hack`n`slash. Игрок не наделен десятками различных умений, только несколько заклинаний, зависящих от того, какое божество покровительствует гиганту. Бои нужно вести с помощью серии комбо-ударов. Сменяя легкие замахи с мощными ударами, игрок может крутиться вихрем, прыгать и резать нескольких противников одновременно. Стиль сражения зависит и от оружия, которое таскает с собой гигант. Это может быть быстрый меч, или медленная булава, замечательно крошащая черепа.

Ascend: Hand of Kul − не совсем мультиплеерная игра. Ролевая игра направлена на одиночное прохождение, а вместе с друзьями можно проводить честные дуэли, используя преимущества карманных человеческих армий.

Ascend is a fun game. In the beginning of the game you choose your Titan which has levels. Once you pass a current level you can «Ascend» and Ascend is a fun game. But once you Ascend you can only keep one weapon or armor. After you picked your weapon or armor that you choose to keep forever (no matter, how many more Ascends) you will now choose either to stick with the god that you picked when you started the game or you can choose a different one. Once chosen it will take you back to the beginning of the game.

Note: As soon as you Ascend, all your armor and weapons gets deleted from that character.

Another side-note: I played the game on Xbox 360. And now that its on PC, I thought I’d give it a try. Sadly the Xbox version got cancelled and the PC version is the only one that is alive as of right now. … Expand
