Sudden Attack 2 Overview
Sudden Attack 2 is a FPS developed by GameHi and published globally by Nexon. It is the sequel to the immensely popular and successful game Sudden Attack, which is currently one of the top free-to-play FPS games in Korea. Developed in Unreal Engine 3, Sudden Attack 2 features advanced graphics that are leagues beyond its predecessor, as well as a physics engine that demonstrates the impact of every bullet shot. Players can join in on a variety of game modes and participate in action-packed PvP to earn currency for use in the game’s robust weapon customization system. A new feature to the game that sets it apart from its predecessor is the Squad War mode, which allows players to assume the position of squad leader and command a team of AI-controlled characters and dogs to complete tactical missions.

Development History / Background:
Sudden Attack 2 is being developed by GameHi, developers of the game’s predecessor Sudden Attack, as well as Dekaron. The game is published by Nexon, a massive South Korean publisher of popular games such as MapleStory, Mabinogi, and Vindictus. Development on Sudden Attack 2 began as early as 2010, originally slated for release in early 2011. Its development ran into resource issues and was not mentioned publicly again until 2014, after its publisher, Nexon, merged GameHi with Nextoric, one of Nexon’s studios. The combined studio was revealed to have begun development on a new FPS using Unreal Engine 3, eventually confirmed to be Sudden Attack 2. It saw an alpha testing phase in July of 2015 in Korea, and launched on July 6, 2016. On July 29, 2016 Nexon announced that Sudden Attack 2 would be shut down on September 29, 2016, less than 3 months after its release.
